Frequently Asked Questions
Here are the answers to some common questions about Chiropractic, if you need any more information please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Are Chiropractors regulated?
By law, anyone using the title 'Chiropractor' must be registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC). This guarantees you a high level of qualification and the practitioner will work to a high level of professional and ethical standards. You can see that our Chiropractor Naomi Mills is registered with the GCC.
Will I get adjusted on my first visit?
We have created our new client on-boarding system to be as simple as possible and allow for you to be adjusted at the time of your assessment if possible. We start with an in-depth chat about your life history via video call, before you travel to the studio to be assessed and adjusted. Naomi's vast experience in Chiropractic allows her to recommend a schedule of adjustments to you on this visit based on your results. In most cases you will be adjusted as part of this visit, however in rare circumstances you may need to undergo further tests or examination before this can happen.
How many sessions do I need?
The rhythm of Chiropractic adjustments that we recommend is unique to everyone. It is based on your current health, lifestyle, goals, expectations and we also take into account any challenges around finances and time. We will always make sure you understand why you are being recommended the sessions, the outcome you can expect and how that will change if you choose to come more or less often than recommended.
Which techniques do you use?
With a decade of experience adjusting everyone from new born babies to professional athletes, tradesmen and clients in their nineties, Naomi uses a range of techniques suited to everyone's individual circumstances. There is no "one size fits all" approach in Chiropractic! That said, everything we do is done using our hands and is as gentle as possible. Naomi primarily uses sacro-occipital technique (SOT) combined with diversified manual adjusting.
Who can come and see a Chiropractor?
As a family practice, we believe that everyone at any age benefits from having their spine checked regularly just like you have your teeth checked at the dentist. Everyone is welcome - your partner, children, parents and grandparents. Please take a read of our "you" section to find our more about specific groups of people that we help including pregnancy and babies.
How much does it cost?
We believe in being completely clear with our pricing, with no hidden costs or agendas. The fees are set to reflect the quality of our work and the experience of our Chiropractor Naomi Mills. Please take a look at our fees page to see our current charges. A percentage of all profits go to support our local food bank in Midlothian.
